Machine Gun Social Campaign Fails

Dean Allen, former candidate for SC Adjutant General, made headlines in 2009 after taking a consultants advice to hold a fundraiser at a local indoor shooting range.

Unfortunately for Dean, he was not able to capitalize on this golden fund raising opportunity.  No campaign manager, an additional “machine gun social”, six months and $362 later, Allen failed to file for Adjutant General.

The race for Adjutant General had four potential candidates in the race: Dean Allen, Brian Frank, Bob Livingston and Stan Spears.

Dean Allen’s unsuccessful bid and management of his campaign has earned him a new job though.

Fourth congressional candidate Christina Jeffrey announced on Facebook that Dean Allen is her new campaign manager.  We don’t have to remind you how many different managers/consultants she’s had.  But the Sunlit Uplands has composed a compelling story discussing her campaign manager “orgy” (my emphasis).

Jeffrey herself has been catching heat after likening South Carolinian’s to “inbreds” and was caught lying to constituents concerning who she voted for in the 2008 presidential primaries.

In a recent poll, readers believed she voted for Giuliani by 67%.

Today, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson endorsed Major General Bob Livingston in his run to become the next Adjutant General of South Carolina.  The press conference took place at the South Carolina Republican Party Headquarters. Wilson’s endorsement follows the endorsement of current Adjutant General Stanhope Spears.

“General Livingston and I served in the Guard together; I visited him and the 218th every 3 months in Afghanistan. I have seen him demonstrate incredible leadership and judgment leading our troops. He is unquestionably uniquely qualified to be the next Adjutant General.”, said Wilson.

General Livingston went on to say, “This endorsement signifies that we are dedicated to taking care of our soldiers at home and abroad, as well as emphasizing quality family support at home.”

Today’s press conference is the most recent indication of Livingston’s broad base of support from National Guard members and the GOP establishment and grassroots communities. These factors, coupled with his substantial war chest makes him the clear front-runner for the GOP nomination.

Major General Bob Livingston is the President and CEO of Gregory Electric Co. In Afghanistan, he led South Carolina’s 218th Brigade and troops from 18 different coalition nations. Livingston currently serves on General Patraeus’ staff at Central Command.

PRESS RELEASE

Today Major General Bob Livingston announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the office of South Carolina’s Adjutant General.

Livingston, the S.C. National Guard Major General who commanded 1,800 deployed S.C. National Guardsmen last year in Afghanistan, was surrounded by friends and supporters as he made his announcement in front of the Veterans Memorial on the Statehouse grounds in Columbia.

“Today based on the endorsement and encouragement of many retired general officers, retired senior enlisted officers, and active guardsmen, I officially announce that I am a Republican candidate seeking the office of the Adjutant General for South Carolina.” Livingston said.

At the announcement ceremony retired Colonel Steve Vinson read an endorsement letter on behalf of the current Adjutant General Stan Spears saying:

“The Guard today is in a great transitional period, a transitional period that requires not only leadership but a deep understanding of the core values that drive our brave soldiers and airmen. I know of only one man that can meet those high standards and that is General Bob Livingston. Now is the time for all of us to get behind his efforts and see him through the primary and General Election”

Livingston said, “General Spears’ endorsement means a lot to me, he was my battalion commander when I was a Scout Platoon leader with the 4-118th Infantry about 27 years ago.  His support represents a transfer of goals and desires between two senior military commanders.  I plan take the baton and continue the great work done by General Spears to take the South Carolina National Guard to its full potential.”

Livingston serves as President of Gregory Electric, a multi-state business with more than 350 employees.  He currently serves on General Patraeus’ Central Command staff coordinating with 60 different coalition nations.

Dean Allen – Machinegun Social 2

That’s right folks.  The man who made headlines last month is giving away another AK-47, this time in the low country of South Carolina.

Time: October 24, 2009 from 12am to 4pm
Location: ATP Gun Shop

Machineguns, B-B-Q, patriotic music, Republican politics, and giving away a free, AK-47 Made In the USA.

Some politicians want to stand around the Country Club with a glass of wine in their hand. I think it is more fun to dress casual, fire machineguns, celebrate the 2nd Amendment [the foundation of our liberty], eat B-B-Q, and talk politics. I have the loudest fund raisers in the history of the Republican party.

Please join me, and help raise money for my campaign to become the Adjutant General of South Carolina. We are the only state in the nation where the Adjutant General, the head of the National Guard, is an elected office.

Our last Machinegun Social also got national media attention. We have been on MSNBC, NPR, 155 Christian Radio Stations, FOX, CNN, every major daily newspaper in South Carolina, and even in a feature article in Field & Stream magazine!

Greenville – Republican Candidate for Adjutant General of South Carolina, Dean Allen, said today that his Machine gun Social fundraiser scheduled for September 26, 2009 is a go. The campaign will give away an AK-47 (semi-automatic) after the event. Because South Carolina law forbids the campaign from holding a raffle anyone who wants a free opportunity to receive the AK-47 is encouraged to visit Allen Arms Indoor Range at 1210 Poinsett Hwy in Greenville beginning Tuesday.

Dean Allen said, “This event is all about celebrating our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. We are celebrating these rights in the hopes the liberals in this country never get the chance to take our Second Amendment rights away from us.”

For the opportunity to win the AK-47 all folks have to do is visit Allen Arms Indoor Range in Greenville and fill out a free entry form,” Allen added. “You do not have to buy a ticket to the Machine gun Social to win the AK-47 but you do have to be a resident of South Carolina and meet all the legal requirements necessary to own a weapon. We do encourage participants to be present at Allen Arms at 5:15PM on September 26 when we draw the winning name.”

“The Machine gun Social itself is from 1:00PM – 5:00PM on September 26 at Allen Arms. It’s going to be a fun day filled with barbecue, music and of course the opportunity to fire a weapon on full auto,” Allen said. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our right to keep and bear arms.”
