Ron Paul is returning to the site where former Spartanburg GOP chairman Rick Beltram challenged him during the 2008 campaign.
Paul is the only veteran in this years presidential election cycle and it’s only appropriate that he hosts a Veterans Rally on November 12th at the Summit Pointe Conference and Events Center beginning at 11am.
The release is below:
As a U.S. Air Force veteran, I experienced life in our armed forces firsthand, and I have worked hard over the years to help many of our veterans finally receive the medals and awards they deserve from their service to our country.
I’m proud to have received more contributions from members of the military than all the other Republican candidates for President – COMBINED!
In fact, the top three organizations that employ my supporters are the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force.
And if elected President, you can rest assured I’ll never put our troops in harm’s way without a clear mission to succeed and without giving them the tools they need to get the job done as quickly as possible.
Instead of nation-building and policing the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, I’ll concentrate on securing our own borders.
At my Veterans Rally in Spartanburg, you’ll have the opportunity to hear firsthand about my plan to secure America if elected Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces.
The Veterans Rally begins at 11am and takes place at the Summit Pointe Conference and Events Center, located at 805 Spartan Boulevard in Spartanburg.
You can get directions HERE.
I hope you’ll join me on Saturday in Spartanburg for a rally in honor of our nation’s veterans.
The Palmetto Freedom Forum will be held on September 5th, 2011 at 3pm in Columbia, SC. Details from the announcement are below.
In 2010, Americans sent a new crop of conservatives to Washington to shake up the status quo and demand a smaller government that pays its bills, instead of passing debt to our children and grandchildren. We must continue this progress in 2012 by sending a true conservative to the White House.
One way to help identify the best Republican candidate for president is by participating in the Palmetto Freedom Forum, sponsored by the American Principles Project. The Palmetto Freedom Forum is a one-of-a-kind event that will take place in Columbia, South Carolina at 3 p.m. on September 5, 2011.
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Congressman Steve King (R-IA), and constitutional expert Dr. Robert George will interview each of the candidates individually and ask them questions that are on the minds of conservatives around the country. Several of the top candidates, including Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry have already confirmed their participation.
Here’s how you can participate:
- Attend in person by signing up to win tickets. Winners will be selected at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011, so sign up today.
- Submit a question for the candidates by emailing it email@example.com
- Follow the event on Facebook so you get the latest forum news and know where to watch it live.
This won’t be a mainstream media debate filled with “gotcha” questions and 5-second sound bites. Instead, it’s an opportunity for the candidates to outline their positions on the key issues and to respond to real questions.
This forum is part of the process of determing which candidate has what it takes to be a courageous, competent, and conservative president. We hope you will participate in this important pre-primary election event.
