Health Care for Everyone

In a perfect world everyone would be happy, healthy and we would not have to worry about going to the doctor or medical expenses. Our country, no matter what else we think or feel, is still the best country in the world, although it is not perfect. Unlike what you have heard or been hearing there is no great unwashed mass that do not have insurance available to them. In our country of 250 million people only 45.7 million people were not insured at one time or another in 2007. Folks, that is only 18% of the population.
There is no doubt that our health care industry is not messed up and that the insurance companies do make it worse. I do believe like most people that the health care system could be tweaked to work better.
According to research of the 45.7 million who did not at some point have insurance last year 26% of those did not choose to accept a form of public coverage. That reduces the number of people uninsured by 11.88 million.
Another 21% that are not insured are immigrants here legally or illegally. So that once again reduces our uninsured number by 9.59 million. For those of you keeping count that brings our total uninsured to 24.23 million.
The next group is actually the one most hurt by a lack of insurance. 20% of the uninsured make at least $75,000 but are not offered insurance by their company. These individuals actually make enough to afford private insurance, but can not get it becasue of a health situation. Subtracting this 9.14 million from the total leaves us with 15.09 million uninsured.
The last group that we have is made up of the younger generation. 40% of the uninsured either consider themselves healthy or do not have it available to them.
Now that we know who is not insured and how their groups are divided does it help us find a cure for the uninsured. No, but now that it is known what the groups are, does it sound so horrifying that 10 million of the people not insured (and I feel that is incredibly low based on the number of illegals in our country) are immigrants legal and illegal.
Our country was not founded to give free health care to all of us. It is simply not feasible to expect it, those who know the truth realize that our country is responsible for protecting our borders, not providing health insurance. If we can get real torte reform that will help lower overall cost of health care. If we don’t allow illegal immigrants to make use of our facilities illegally that would also decrease our cost. If we could all step back and take a look at the situation we would realize that the government is not the one that should be running our insurance. If you need more proof simply look at how Medicare and the VA are run.
If the goverment can not take care of the men and women who have protected us why would we think they could take care of our health needs. I hope that these measures are not passed and that we can find a diffrent way to help those who trully need help.
All UNC Picks Taken in NBA Draft

Cleveland Cavaliers are Stacked!
We don’t follow the NBA much, but we are impressed with what the Cleveland Cavaliers accomplished today.
With arguably one of the best players in the NBA, LeBron James, they acquired Shaquille O’Neal in a trade today from the Phoenix Suns.
And to top it off, they picked up the best 6th Man in the NCAA, Danny Green from North Carolina with the 16th pick in the 2nd round.
North Carolina’s Other Prospects
Surprisingly enough, our favorite, Tyler Hansbrough, was taken 13th in the 1st round of the draft by the Indiana Pacers. Many have compared Hansbrough to Christian Lattener. A hard worker but not enough to survive in the NBA.
Ty Lawson was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves and immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets for a future 1st round pick.
Wayne Ellington was drafted by the Timberwolves as well in the 1st round with the 28th pick.

PRESS RELEASE
Date: 25 June 2009 – For Immediate Release
Subject: Attack on Freedom of Religion
Senator Shane Martin is asking for the public to stand behind Spartanburg School District 7 as they defend their right to give school credits for religious courses.
Senator Martin stated: “The public needs to be aware of this issue so we may gain the momentum needed to overcome this attack. It isn’t just another attack on religious freedom it’s yet another attack on our American culture. This reminds me of the referendum placed on the ballot in 2006 to solidify that marriage is between one man and one woman. The vote split on that issue was 78% to 22%. This should never have been an issue, but a small percent of the population was attempting to force their views on the majority. That’s what we have here and we should not buckle. I believe many of society’s problems exist today as a result of our country moving further away from God and its time for the majority to take a stand.”
Martin has been in contact with legal council around the state in an attempt to insure the school has the necessary resources to defend the student’s rights to receive proper credit for their religious coursework.
Martin is a State Senator for District 13. For more information, please visit: www.SenatorMartin.com.
What Happens to the Conservative Reform Agenda

Besides our concern for Sanford’s family, we also mentioned our concern over the Conservative Reform Agenda in South Carolina politics. So we took to the phones and called some of the state legislators and operatives to see what they think may come of the Conservative Reform Agenda. We want to know, was Sanford the kingpin pushing this agenda and will it survive?
Joey Millwood – House District 38 – Landrum
Joey campaigned against Bob Walker who was the education and public works chair to win this seat in 2008. He didn’t receive much support from Sanford during the campaign but his campaign was based on the same general principles.
“If there is one thing the establishment has proven in South Carolina, it is that the Governor has no power. It is with the General Assembly. Until the leadership in the House and Senate changes, none of the conservative reform agenda will progress.”
Kerry Wood – Strategist – Dark Horse Strategy Groups
Kerry Wood ran Shane Martin’s campaign that knocked out incumbent Senator Jim Ritchie. DHSG founds itself of the conservative reform movement and only runs candidates that are favorable to the movement.
“The movement is not one person. The movement does not begin or end with Gov. Sanford. It will go on regardless.”
Eric Bedingfield – House District 28 – Mauldin
Eric has been a champion of the movement for some time now. He took up the mantle fighting for immigration reform and pension initiatives over the last several years.
“The reform movement will not disappear, especially with Senator Larry Grooms running for Governor. His leadership will continue to progress the reform movement.”
Carl Clegg – Public Relations Director for SCFYR
One of the key organizers of the original Tea Party in Greenville, SC, Carl has focused his work across the state to promote the conservative reform agenda.
“Though Gov. Sanford was the public face of the conservative reform movement, he was not the entire movement. The movement will continue on with new faces leading the charge.”

Nikki Haley gives her thoughts on the Conservative Reform Movement on her website.
Table 301 Offers Stimulus Package for a Limited Time

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to share this promotion with our readers and received many emails wishing we had told them earlier. My apologies.
But there is good news for those of you who missed out in January or didn’t make it back one month and dropped out of the program. Table 301 has provided a “small window of opportunity” for those of you who missed out on the Table 301 Stimulus Package in January,
If you have never heard of Table 301, the organization is run by Carl Sobocinski. His restaurants include the fabulous Soby’s (new southern cuisine), Soby’s on the Side, The Loft at Soby’s, Devereaux’s (new age and southern cuisine), The Lazy Goat (Mediterannean, International), Table 301 Catering and opening later this summer, a new restaurant in the former Restaurant O. The coupon is only valid at Soby’s, Devereaux’s, and The Lazy Goat.
Here’s the catch, if you go by June 30th, 2009 and use the coupon, you will receive another coupon to use the next month for $25 off your meal at another participating Table 301 restaurant. And it continues through the end of the year.
Enjoy the meal and tell Carl, Gary sent you.
