Chelsea to lead Supporters to Make 1 Million Phone Calls

In an e-mail from Chelsea Clinton to supporters, she is asking for any help they can get. Reports across the web today have acknowledged the campaign will do anything they can to ensure Hillary wins the nomination. Even to fight the DNC ruling on Michigan and Florida to allow those delegates to vote in their meetings (after all, she did agree not to campaign there since they violated DNC policy).

My friends ask all the time: “What can we do to help your mom win?”

Well today I have an answer for them and for all of us who support my mom: we can make 1,000,000 calls.

OK, no one person has to make all 1,000,000 calls! But supporters like you and my friends are the best people to speak out on my mom’s behalf — and we need to talk to a lot of voters in the next few weeks.

It’s simple: the more people we talk to about why each of us so strongly supports my mom, the more people will get out and vote for her.

If you sign up today to make calls for as little as an hour a week, you can help us reach 1,000,000 voters over the phone before the next big contests.

Please help my mom — and all of us — win by signing up to call voters for her campaign!

It’s an amazing experience to meet so many people who are working so hard on my mom’s campaign and to meet so many more who want to get involved and make a difference in this critical moment.

In less than three weeks, we’re facing big races in states like Ohio and Texas. In fact, there are races all over the country where my mom needs help — and we have to contact a lot of voters in a very short time! I know so many of you have shown a ton of dedication to my mom since Super Tuesday, and I’m sure that working together we will have no problem making our 1,000,000 call goal!

Can you help out? I hope so! Sign up for as little as an hour of calls a week, and you can make a huge difference toward reaching all those people in the next three weeks.

Sign up now to help us call 1,000,000 people for my mom.

Thank you so much for all you’re doing to help my mom win!

Here is a press release from the Ron Paul Campaign:

Total military donations nearly as much as the total of all other remaining candidates – Republican and Democrat

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – According to newly released FEC reports, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has received more military donations than the other three remaining Republican candidates combined.

“The latest numbers make it clear: the troops support Ron Paul,” said Ron Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Dr. Paul has worked his entire career working for veterans, and has many awards and endorsements due to his dedication to their cause.”

A search of the FEC database by employer reveals that Dr. Paul has received 1160 donations from military donors, nearly triple that of John McCain, and more than McCain, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee combined.

Dr. Paul’s total military donations of $249 thousand are almost as much as the $260 thousand of combined donations received by the other five remaining candidates.

Congressman Paul is no stranger to military support. Former president Ronald Reagan once said, “Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country!”

According to the FEC reports, these are the total number and amount of military donations for each of the presidential candidates*:

Ron Paul: 1160 $249k
John McCain: 438 $83k
Mike Huckabee: 126 $37k
Mitt Romney: 126 $24k
Barack Obama: 443 $76k
Hillary Clinton: 154 $41k

*Methodology: Searched FEC reports for occupation/employer contains: “Army” “Navy” “USN” “USAF” “Air Force” “Marine” “USMC” “Coast Guard” “USCG” then removed duplicates and non-military occupations (i.e. “marine repair”)

Mike Huckabee Struggles For Money Again

In an e-mail to supporter’s this evening, Huckabee acknowledged that they must win Texas to have hopes of a brokered convention. I must admit, like many other conservatives, I’m not hip on McCain being our nominee. In it though, he again is encouraging all to donate as much as they can to win Texas. Text can be found below.

I find it simply amazing that Huckabee is beating Paul in the delegate count, yet he cannot muster the money to compete against McCain. Latest figures show the Huck running around $9 million total, Paul more than $28 million. We all have witnessed that money can’t buy you this election, but why can’t the Huck raise the money yet he has more support in the voting booths?

Before we get to a brokered convention however we will need to win Texas and seize the momentum. For this to happen however, we must have your immediate financial support. We are laying it all on the field in Texas and we need you to join us.

Will you make an immediate contribution of $25 or more? Will you stand with me and fight for Texas and reclaim the momentum in the race for the Republican nomination?

This race is about issues. This race is about you.

The fight for Texas is critical. We will invest your support into television ads, targeted voter contact efforts and new campaign materials. Every dollar counts. To compete in the March 4 Texas primary we estimate we must raise an additional $1.5 million by then. To accomplish this, we need you to renew your financial support today. Remember a contribution of $25 or more will help us move closer to the goal and you can be certain we will invest it wisely.

Ron Paul Focuses on Congressional Seat

In an e-mail from the Ron Paul campaign today, Congressman Paul stated that he was making his Presidential campaign staff leaner and going to focus on retaining his Congressional seat in Texas. See text below for details from Congressman Paul.

Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties — just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.
